  I say it's officially winter because it's flipping cold out. I had to pull my electric throw blanket out to warm up when I get in from being outside. Once I get warm I start writing, it had been over a month since I wrote anything. I think the main reason I didn't write in November is because it's nanowrimo and I didn't want to take part in it this year.    Well I am back to writing, it started kind of slow only writing maybe 50 words a day. But everyday I got more into my normal rhythm of writing. I am now up to about 400 words a day, which is close to my daily goal. Since its cold out I will not be doing too much outside so I will get a bunch of writing done. Well I procrastinated enough it's time for me to get to my writing Happy reading Happy writing

  I am sorry I haven't blogged in a few months my life got a little hectic.   October went ok, archon was awesome. We had a family issue but got everything taken care of. I had a good birthday, Halloween was really nice my kids had a great time trick or treating in the nice weather. I did do some writing that month and some rewriting.   November was nanowrimo and I did not do it again this year. I had too much going on, I had all my teeth pulled in preparation for dentures. So I was dealing with pain and trying to eat with out teeth. Thanksgiving was nice, and I started getting gifts made or bought for Yule. I still need to finish my shopping but I will get it done in the next couple of weeks. I did very little writing, I had too much going on. Now it's December and it's just going to get busier, I am going to try to get more writing done. Again I am sorry I was MIA for a few months. I am going to get some stuff done before I start writing.   I have been trying to grow my platform so I might of a better chance on getting published. I have added an Instagram page link to my website and I added a page to my website. A good friend is trying to help me as well, but all this is kind of overwhelming for me. I am sure there are other writers that are where I am or ever have been knows how I am feeling. There is still a lot I do not know or understand.   I do know I need more people liking and following me to get my know out there. But I need some help from all of you who read this blog.   I thought I would write about how music helps me write, I know not every write writes with music or the same kinds of music. I know of some writers need it to be quiet for them to write well or some need only the sounds of nature. Some writers write best with classical music playing.   I personally need a large variety of music to write. I find that some music like heavy metal works best for fight scenes, while romantic songs are good for love scene. But for the between scenes I need to beable to flip through all the music to find songs that work best for what is happening.   I have tried to write with out it and nothing flows right. I end up deleting a lot of what I write with out music because I took a wrong turn. I don't have different play list for each book. I always use the same music but the song order always changes. Thanks to my husband I have a large music selection to listen to.   Now I am not saying you have to listen to anything or nothing. But try different so

   The other day I was in a chat room trying to clear my head since I was having a hard time with a scene in my W.I.P I thought chatting with some of my online friends might help. But a total butt head came in the chat room and started going off on the fact I am not published and I need to shut up and go write. When I asked what does it matter to him if I am published or not he went off on the fact he has been published hundreds of times and it's not hard. I asked him what he published he informed me he writes patents, technical text for patents. I inform him I write novel length manuscripts and it's hard to get published unless you self publish. Apparently that just upset him and he kept going off on me to the point everyone else started defending me. Then the butt head starting getting mad they were defending me. At this point nearly everyone blocked him so we would not have to deal with his drama.   The reason I am telling you all this is if you write anything and you get

  Today my kids started school my son started in high school today, it felt wrong to let him walk to his bus stop alone but I let him since its uncool to have mom walk you to the bus stop. My daughter is in middle school(junior high) she asked me to walk her to the bus stop, I think she did it to make me feel better but I got to wave to her as her bus left. I hate the start of school not because I don't want them to go to school but because I got used to the noise of them being here and now it's gone until almost 4 pm five days a week ( this week it's 3). Once I get used to it again I will be ok.   Needless to say I have gotten no writing done and I might not get much done for a week or so. Once the routine is normal again writing will be easier and more will get done. I am sure there are other writers that are parents that get this way, but it always makes me feel like I am really odd for getting this way.    Summer break is almost over, I have to register my kids for school soon. They start school on August 17th, it's weird my son is going into high school this year and my daughter is going in to 7th grade. They are growing up so fast. I am kind of sad that summer break is almost over, it's the end of sleeping in ( as if I have done that very often anyway) and late nights. But on the up side it ends late night writing and I will go back to my daytime writing schedule.    I do enjoy not having to get up so early but I don't get much writing done with the kids home. That's ok though I love spending time with them. Once they are back in school I will miss them being here. Also once they start school our week schedule gets a little hectic with school, practice, and other things we need to fit in to every day.    That being said I can't want to get back to my normal daytime writing schedule.    Its been a little more then the school year ended, and my kids are officially bored lol. I have been trying to keep them busy but they are a teenager and a preteen so everything I try to do with them they don't find very fun. It has also been either very hot or rainy so outside stuff is not really something we can do right now. There have been some illness and injures in the last month which sucks. As of right now no one is ill or injured so (knocking on wood) we are all doing well.    The kids still have dance practice every Monday and we do have performances and appearances ( walking in parades) this summer. We have 2 new dancers, one of which is a good friend of mine and my hubby's. I do try and write while the kids practice, when I am not needed to be the devil in the devil dance.    In the writer part of my life, I have been writing more at night while everyone here is a sleep that way I am not interupted too often. I am kind of stuck in one scene that is dealing wi

  Our first full week with the kids out of school was busy. We had practice on Monday like normal, Tuesday we my daughter's 12th birthday so we went to a local minor team baseball game. We had a lot of fun that day. Wednesday we did some running, Thursday we had dinner with mom (my mother inlaw) Friday we had a chiropractor appointment. Saturday hubby and the kids helped my brother in law with his yard sale, Sunday we got what we need for yesterday's BBQ .   So I did not get a lot of writing done. I will be trying to get as much writing I can get done when my kids give me the chance to. As of right now we have nothing going on this week so I should beable to get a few pages done this week.   Tomorrow(May 18th) is my kids' last day of school until mid August. My daughter is a little sad for this year to end. My son is ok with the school year ending. I am glad I will get to sleep in, but I am sad because it means my kids are growing up. My son will start high school in August and my daughter will be in 7th grade. I always feel old when the school year ends and when the new one starts.      So since the kids will be home during the day my writing time has to shift from during the day to at night. It will take a few days to get used to it but I will be able to do it. I have not really written anything since my hubby lost his brother in law. I will be trying to write as much as I can today and tomorrow while I have time during the day.   I will try to blog alittle more often but not sure it will work.   My family and I lost a family member last night, my husband's brother in law passed away of what is thought to be a heart attack. He left behind his wife, three daughters, and a grandson, I do not have any other details right now. my writing will be greatly effected by this for a while, I know I am not blogging daily but I might not be blogging for awhile after this one. I need to help my sister in law with everything that's going on right now.    I am asking all of you that read my blog to pray for my sister in law and her family.     It's almost that time of year again, when my kids are out of school from about the middle of May to the middle of August.     This is when my writing time goes from during the day to during the night. The reasons for the time switch is because one my kids have the wonderful timing to need something while I am having a really good writing session. Two because during the time the kids are out of school we have a lot going on between family day trips, dance performances, and just normal summer activities.     My writing is going a little slow due to having a double ear infection and have had awful headaches. But I am writing as much as I can. I was hoping to have good news to blog about but I have not gotten a request for my manuscript and no acceptance from an agent or publishing house. But I am still trying to find an agent, I want to be traditionally published one day, I just hope it's soon.    I also want to thank you all who read my blog, you give me hope that

   Spring officially started a little over a week ago, but it's not very spring like everyday. Some days it was really cold and or snowing. Other days were very spring like some sunny some rainy. Today is an overcast windy day and it's suppose to rain this afternoon. Because it springtime again it's time for spring cleaning again. This year hubby and I have started by putting carpet titles down in my kitchen and dining area. Then we pulled all the carpet and padding in the hallway and living room and put wood flooring down.              Then of course the kids were on spring break from school until yesterday ( Tuesday). So while my kids were off school we for eye dr appointments, a dr appointment, and an orthodontist appointment done on top of Easter for my kids. Needless to say I have not gotten much writing done, until Monday. But thus is life of a mother and writer.      I got pretty far in the scene I was working on Monday.    I was told a while back by more then one author that was able to find an agent that it will be hard. One actually said "you will be able to wall paper our office with the rejection letters before you get an acceptance." But I was not prepared for how hard it has been for me.     I understand it's really hard to find an agent, but I seem to be having a harder time then some other writers. I have never gotten a request for a full copy ot part of a copy of my manuscript, it's kind of discouraging after this long. But I have not given up, I will not give up on my dream.    I was talking to my hubby about a rejection I have gotten resently, when I think I figured out why I am having a harder time then some. I am writing from the monster's point of view,and no other author does that I found.   last week was weird, Monday and Tuesday the weather was early springish the day Wednesday we had a snow storm that canceled school. The snow was pretty much gone by Thursday which was back to early spring and still is nice today the last day of February.   The weather was not the only thing that was happening. Monday Casper (one of  the rescued hedgehogs I adopted last April) stopped eating and drinking, so I took him to the vet, the only thing wrong was his nails where long so they trimmed them, gave him an antibiotic shot and sent me home with some antibiotics. He ate a little that night but even with me giving him the meds twice a day he did not eat anymore and threw up the water I gave him with a syringe. Thursday I took him back to the vet again, that's when I had to send him over the rainbow bridge. The kids took it hard that Casper would not be around anymore. We all miss him but he is no longer hurting and has all the mealworms he wants.   Since the loss of Casper I h

   I was reading a blog by Tricia Goyer ( http://www.triciagoyer.com/what-is-the-best-book-writing-software/ ) it was about writing software. It got me thinking about all the writing software I used or use. I have not used every writing software out there and what I say about the ones I have used is just my opinion, so please do not change what you like using because I do not care for the software.    I will start with what most PCs have which is notepad. It's good for writing a few quick notes but not too great for writing more then notes. It has no set margins or a word counter. Because of theses issues it makes editing a really pain. In my opinion do not use for more then quick notes.    Next is open office first thing Is you can down load a free version of it. It's good for writing it has margins and they can be changed, you can edit ok with it but the word counter is not acurate at all it counts words, but it also counts spaces and punctuation. The last few weeks have been kind of stressful for me. First the weather went from semi-nice weather to Oh May Goodiness it's cold. The kids were off school the 15th (Friday) and the 18th(Monday) it snowed here last Tuesday night (1/19/16) so the kids were off Wednesday (1/20/16). I ended up going to the urgent care Thursday (1/21/16) and have been on antibiotics since. So there was not much writing done until this past Saturday (1/23/16). I didn't write yesterday because I was too tired from writing the night before. I did get rejection letters from 4 out of the 6 agents I queried a few weeks ago. It's kind of discourging that none of the agents I have queried over that last several years has not even requested a full or partial manuscript, but I am not giving up. Today so far no writing was done, I have been dealing with personal issues, but I think I can get through them soon. The last weeks has been colder then it has been since winter started this weekend has been the coldest this winter. Yesterday was in the twenties and in some places it snowed, today it has not gotten above fifteen and the wind chill was making it feel like negitive eleven. So it's been a good day to stay inside where it is nice and warm. So today has been a lazy day, other than some house work and chores that needed to be done today. I have tried to get some writing done, but the kids have been a bit hyper being stuck inside so needless to say writing has not been going well today. If it's this cold in the morning I am hoping school is canceled, but I doubt it will be. I am sure th kids will still have practice and I know I will be able to get writing done then no more if I get writing done tomorrow day or not.  Well I better get going the kids will be getting ready for bed soon. Happy new year to all you wonderful people, my night was not as planned but it was good. I had to be put on steriods and antibiotics for an ear infection and upper respiratory congestion, but I am fine and will be better in a few days. Now some new I got from family, my youngest sister( the one who has not talked to me for over a year) is engaged to a man I do not care for on Christmas, but it's her life so I am wishing her well and I wish her to stay far away. I also found out my other sister got engaged last night not sure when last night but it happened. I told her congrats and I wish her to be well also. I have made the decision to cut all toxic people from my life and I am starting with my youngest sister because I can't deal with her drama and lies. As the year goes on I will be cutting more people from my life that cause me too much stress. I am also going to keep being the bigger person, I will not bash, blast or bad mouth anyone on social media there is no point to
