The busy month of November

This month has been so busy, I am sorry this has not been posted sooner. I am still work on getting book 2 published by the end of the year but it might not be out until the beginning of new year. I am also still writing book 3, promoting both New Life By The Full Moon and book 2.  Life always gets hectic this time of year around here. There has also been a lot of stuff happening in my family life on top of getting through the holidays. But this is the life of a parent and writer.  I know that my blogs are very personal along with my professional wrork ( my writing stuff) but I have always told you all I am trying to show other creative people that it is possible to work towards your dreams and have a family, a career, have other responsibilities, and follow your dreams. That’s why I talk about my personal life to an extent and whatever is happening in my writing life. I share my experiences dealing with family life and being a writer. I share how sometimes stuff in my p...

Archon 44 was awesome

Archon ended almost 2 weeks ago, I am sorry I have not done this sooner but life has been busy since the convention ended.  So I will do a day by day run down ;) We were very excited that Archon happened. There where not as many people which is understandable. We did have to wear masks the whole weekend except when eating and drinking which is also understandable. Friday Oct. 1st; My husband helped me set everything up at 9ish in the morning. it was kind of slow most of the day. I beleive I sold one book but it was an e-book. In the afternoon my husband got the kids from work and school. towards the end of the day we had a group of people who kept flipping through my questions I put out to start conversations. Their answers to them were amazing and funny, in the end I sold a book to one of the ladies in the group I asked her to write her name down since it was a bit loud and I was having a hard time hearing with the masks on. when she wrote her name down she also asked me to ...

Busy time of year again

I apologize for not posting last month but it's that time of year where one (it used to be both) of  children starts school. So its busy getting everything needed for school, getting the morning and afternoon routine going smoothly.  My daughter also has a lot of after school activities so getting the schedule straight with all of them with everything else we do that does not include school stuff (I.E. chores).  I have also had to rearrange my writing and promoting schedule to a more convent times so my schedule does not confect with my daughter's schedule. Now that she has been in school for a few weeks and everything is starting to getting easier to get through I have my schedule switched from writing and promoting from at night to in the mornings for the most part. There are still times like right now I do not get to doing something until later in the day. But as always I do try not to work during times my family members are all home so I can spend time with them...

Why my family and I got the Covid vaccine and how it has anything to do with my writing.

I have been asked more than once if we (my family and myself) are vaccinated and why we did. Now this is not saying you have to get the vaccine. these are my reasons and my opinions. It does effect my writing and promoting of my book(s).     My reasons are simple at least to us. I have friends and family who have medical conditions that makes it so they can't have the vaccine. We want to beable to visit with them with out worrying that we are going to make them sick. It seems to be the best why to keep them from getting sick from us. My family and I believe  that the good benefits out weigh the side effects of the shots. We knew there were some not so fun side effects from the shots but be believed and still believe they are better than getting Covid and being in the hospital.   It also means I can start going to conventions and craft/vender shows again to sell my book New Life By The Full Moon which will help me get the funds needed to publish my s...

When you lose motivation

Before I start I want to apologize for the lack of post but life has gotten really hectic. I will do better from now on.   I wanted to write about when you lose the motivation to create. I believe everyone hits a point where life seem to get in the way of creating, or you just don’t know why but you can’t get motivated. I believe it is ok to take a break if you are not motivated to create but don’t take a long break. Then there are time you have to push through the unmotivatedness ( is that a word?) even if what you create is not the best you are creating at least.   I am writing this to let you know you are not a failure if you hit a point were you are not motivated to create. You will create again sometimes you need to find inspiration to create. Sometimes you have to force the inspiration to find you.  It will be hard sometimes but you will get through it. You just need to have faith in yourself. I am off to deal with some life issues then try to get some writing...

If you want it you must work hard to get it

And when I say you have to work hard for I’m not talking about an item like a toy or a new car well yeah new car. But I mean your dream, do you want to be a bestseller? Do you want to be a awesome artist? Do you want to be the CEO of your own company?  If this is something you want you, honestly have to work hard for  it. You can’t just say this is what I want and have bought it and not actually do the work. You have to work really really hard to get where you want to be. Me, I want to be at least a decent selling author which means I have to work my bottom off to get where I want to be. I write every day, I promote every day. I am actually doing the synopsis and trying to get images of what I would like my next book cover to look like. I’m doing everything I need to on top of trying to save money because it cost to get artwork for your book done. I’m trying to do everything in my power to get myself ready. So I am there ready with the person says OK I need images, here ...

Dealing with writer’s block

Now before I start, I need to say that this is how I deal with writer’s block and what I do may or may not work for you.    Writer’s block can be a real pain in the backside, but when I start feeling like I hit a block in my writing I have a few things I do that really helps me. I thought I would  share a few with you, they might give you an idea of something that might help you when you hit writer’s block.   The first thing I do is exercise, I work out 3 days a week not to fight writer’s block but to try to help prevent it. I noticed cardo helps more that lifting weights but doing both is good my my body. After working out I always feel better and my mind feels clearer.    The next thing is hang out with friends and family which due to the pandemic that has become much harder to do. But when I could/can it helps being around my friends and family talking about thing other than my writing. I’m not sure why it helps but it does. Plus I enjoy bei...
