Why say such nasty things about other writers?

Now that question and the title is not saying I’m going to say bad things about other writers, my thing is why do you other writers  that feel they are superior say such nasty things about writers who don’t follow the same track they do. You see I’m a part of several writing groups on Facebook and today I saw a post that has really upset me. Someone wanted to know some of the more unpopular comments or advice given to writers, and it turns into some nastiness because some writers like myself have an imagination so good that we treat our characters as if they’re real people. There’s other famous writers that do this Laurell K.Hamilton is one of them. It makes writing more enjoyable for us and it’s a way to explain when things don’t follow the outline correctly. We say things like “my characters have taken the story in your direction I wasn’t expecting” or “I really wish they would stay on track with the outline.”

 These other writers  were also saying nasty things about people who don’t have an education in writing. But feel the need to write so they do, OK yeah some of us do not have the be the best at spelling or have the best grammar. that’s why there’s editing and editors to help with that if the story is good. Then an editor can help the writer make the punctuation and grammar or spelling to where it needs to be to be published.

You don’t have to have a degree in writing to be a writer. You just have to have the need to write and you have a story to get out of you. I’m not saying that all writer are super great at writing and that’s ok no one and I mean NO ONE get the story prefect in the first draft. There are some of us that don’t need education to write because what we write is not exactly what everyone expects us to write. You don’t need to be mean to other writers  just because they don’t write like you or just because they are different than you. Every writer who feels the need to write regardless of education grammar or spelling punctuation has the right to tell their story.

I do believe every writer and I mean EVERY writer need to have their stories edited but someone who is good at spelling, grammar and punctuation. I do know not every write can afford a professional editor but I think some people need to save up the money to get an editor I know I had to I suck at spelling and grammar and punctuation and I saved  my money, I’m actually on a payment plan with my editor so that I can get my writing where it needs to be so that I can get my books out there the way I want them to be. So please stop bashing other writers  that don’t write like you just because you have an education in creative writing.
