almost done editing

I am almost done editing with my editor, which is awesome and scary all at the same time. Its awesome because I will have a polished manuscript. I am excited it means I am one step closer to getting published. I am happy about it I really am, but I am scared too. it means I am moving forward in my dream and I am worried about failing.   I do have a chance to get published by the same person who owns the editing company. which is great but it cost a bunch of $$$$ and since I am not good at marketing its more $$$$ for a promotion package. when you are an aspiring writer thats something you don't have a lot of. I have looked in to crowd funding but not sure I could do that. I did started a patreon creator page (go to patreon and look up trisha_jones_writer) and see what I am trying to do. I also have a you tube channel and I am posting about writing.   I have been writing a little on other projects but I have been focusing a lot of time on The Were I Have Become. I kno...

Been busy as of late

Hi all you wonderful people, I am sorry that I have not blogged lately. I have been working hard  with my editor on my manuscript. I also was in the hospital for 3days(29/30, 31, and part of the1st) I am ok just had some odd pain in my belly. From the 2nd thru the 13th. Since I got back I have been a busy writer. I am writing something new on top of doing the edits. I also have a new page, it's a patreon page ( you find me at trisha_jones_writer) I hope you check it out. Well I need to get more writing done. I have an editor!!

I have an editor, I am so happy. A few weeks ago I started working with her. My husband has been saving and told me the end of April that I could hire the editor I found.  It's going well, the editor is very nice and so helpful. Though I did not realize how much help my manuscript needed but I am willing to do the work to get it polished enough to be published.    I do suggest getting an editor if you can afford it. It's well worth the time and money. The editor I work with is and editor from literarybae.com . I suggest checking them out they are worth it.  These editors are not just editors they are literary coaches. They are awesome. Even if you don't use an editor from the link you should get an editor they will help you polish your work. Well I have to get back to working on my manuscript. Happy reading Happy writing

Feeling discouraged but determined

I am not sure how many of you are aspiring writers or artist, and I'm not sure  how many that are in the situation I am in. You see I am a stay at home mom, and any money that hubby brings in from him working goes to the bills, food and things our kids need. There are time we have a little money that we can splurge a little. But it's not enough for getting my manuscripts professionally edited. I did find an editor I would like to have edit my work but I don't have enough. I am also still looking for an agent but not much luck. I also try to be upbeat and encouraging of other writers and artists. But on days like this where I am feeling discouraged and down I find it hard to be upbeat. I know there are hundreds of writers and artists that feel like this so I know I am not alone in how I feel. I do plan on continuing to write, trying to get an agent, and saving up for an editor to edit my work. I'm sorry this blog post is not my more encouraging posts but I feel tha...

Editing, inspiration, the writing world

I have been editing book 2 of my series again since I have added and taken things away. I have been asked why I am editing, and been told it does not sound fun. Well no it's not fun but editing is necessary. If you just throw all your ideas down and never look back you can never get anywhere. Yes it's a good start to get everything written down but you have to go back an flesh out your work and get it all in the proper order.    I have been following an editor and writer by the name of  Sharai Robbin on Facebook  ( Sharai Robbin-Stoy Stylist)  and Instagram (sharairobbin) she posts videos on both of those pages Monday, Wednesday, and most Fridays. most are for nonfiction but some information She talks about can be applied to fiction and on Fridays it's fiction Friday which she talks about things for fiction. I suggest you look her up and watch some of her videos they are helpful.   For anyone who is just starting or needing help moving forward. I...

Rough start to the year, just a quick update post

This year is starting out kind of rough but most years start rough for me. I am editing book 2 after combining books 2 and 3. I have a start on the new book 3, but I have not worked on it for a little while.  I really messed up my ankle, nothing is broke. So my excerising is on hold for a little while. This weather will not make up its mind it was nice for a few days the colder then hell then nice again.   My kids are back at school and their dance group is practicing again on mondays( they took the month of December off). So I get some of my writing stuff done then. I am still querying agents got one rejection so far. I wish they would a least give my manuscript a chance. I will continue to write even if no one ever wants to publish my books(but I would really be happy if they would).   Well that's all the updates right now, I will post more stuff later on as the year goes on. Issues with finding an agent and trying to get published

As a new writer I am going through the same issues all new writers go through. Hounderds of rejections. I get that what I write not every one wants that's fine but what bothers me is when the agent doesn't even read the query letter and or sample pages.   I don't normally post about an agent but this one is one that has bothered me the most. This rejection came fro me Doreen Thistle " Dear Ann, Thank you so much for your query, but we are going to pass at this time. Unfortunately, the concept and sample pages didn't connect with us as much as we’d hoped. Due to this, we don't believe we are the right agency to champion this piece. Thank you for considering us for your work, and we wish you luck in your writing future. In your search for the perfect agent, you may want to check out  Writer’s Digest Guide to Literary Agents blog . We have found it to be a great resource for finding new agents who are looking to build their lists. We also encourag...
