A day in the life of a writer who is also a mom

I was asked a few times how I can write while being a stay-at-home mom. So, I thought I would give you all what a day in my life is looks like. Now I know this may be rather boring for some if not all of you. But I was asked that question enough I felt the need to do this, maybe it will help someone who wants to write but not sure if they can. With that said let's get started.     I start my days at 4:15 in the morning Monday through Friday. Three days a week I work out, not soon after getting up. On the other days I get up early and I spend time with my husband before he goes to work. I take care of my animals before taking my oldest to work on days he works. When I get home from taking him, I do some homework which is mostly just straightening up here and there before sitting down and doing some promoting my books.    After I  pick up my son from work, we eat lunch and I either continue working on promotional stuff or I start working on my ...

The new year and the goals.

I hope everyone had a good holiday season, and the new year is starting well for you all. My holidays went well and my new year is going well so far. I am writing this for a couple reasons, one is to keep myself accountable to my goals. Two to help those who might feel overwhelmed trying to set goals.   Let’s start with holding myself accountable, I have discovered I write out my goals where I see them I keep to them better. I suggest if you have a hard time keeping to your goals try writing them out and have them where you see them every day. If you still have a hard time try adding some smaller goals, it helps keep you motivated when you see that you were able to mark off goals.    Now the goals, they can be anything, they can be as big or small as they need to be. My goals are small with a few big ones. Mine are, 1. to write everyday for at least an hour a day but try for 1,000words a day. 2. Finish writing book four this year. 3. Get book three edit and possibl...

Event went well

The event went well, I made 7 sales which was 13 books. I know it's not the most I sold but it's still more than I thought I would sell. I am trying to get back into my writing, but I also need to get a bunch of promotional stuff done as well. So, I am working on promoting first, mainly because my muse ran away lol.   I don't know how much writing I am going to get done since here in the U. S. this is Thanksgiving week. I am getting everything I need to get done for Thanksgiving on Thursday.   I don't have a whole lot of stuff to tell you about this time. So, I am going to get back to work on promoting happy reading happy writing

Event for this month

I will be at another event in about 2 weeks to sell my books at is at the same location as the event before Archon. I am posting a link if you are in the area and would like to go and see what all is going to be there. https://facebook.com/events/s/holiday-sip-shop/1164755040784500/ I have been writing more even though I am not taking part in nanowrimo, it’s too stressful for me to do it. The writing I am doing is mostly on paper 14 pages worth. So I am feeling really good about it.  I know this is a short blog but I wanted to let you know about the event :) Happy reading  Happy writing

Archon 45

Archon 45 went well, the panels went well, there were a few issues, but I let programing know. I did sell my books over the weekend. I made seventeen sales which I figured out it was twenty-four books in told. I almost sold out of books, don't worry i have more here in my office, I just took part of them to events.        I also got to see some friends and a few people we know; we only get to see them at Archon every year. We enjoyed our weekend, even our youngest came up for Friday evening and Saturday. They did go back to college early Sunday morning (due to their job). I was sad and I do miss my small one but I understand they have school and work.        I took a few days off to rest; I am realizing I am not as young as I used to be. I am getting back to my writing today. I have not gotten much done but that's OK. I better get back to work lol happy reading happy writing

And another event in the books

Last weekend was a good weekend, we went to see my youngest for family weekend at their college on Saturday. We had an enjoyable time with them.  Then on Sunday I did a vendor event, shopping & sips & snacks! Oh my. I met all kinds of people and sold 14 books. I am thinking I will do that event again in Nov. but I have to wait until after Archon this weekend and see if i have enough to reserve a spot if they have any left.    The next event I will be going to is Archon 45, it is from Sept. 30 until Oct. 2 This event will be in Collinsville Illinois. Not only will I be selling my books there, but I will also be a panelist on a few panels. I am really excited!     I know this is kind of short, but there is not much to say other than it was a good event, and I will do it again.  Happy reading  Happy writing

Last weekend

I went to Rinkel pumpkin farm vendor fair to sell some of my books. It was a hot weekend and I got a nifty sunburned face, but it was still a good weekend. I met all kinds of people and sold a told of 11 books. I think I will do that even again but I think I will invest it some kind of walls for my canopy that will block the sun but also allow the wind to come through.   I didn’t get much else done because I was out the farm pretty much all day both days, but it was so very worth it to me.  The next event I will be going to is shopping &sips&snacks! Oh my, which will be September 25th.  https://facebook.com/events/s/shopping-sips-snacks-oh-my/389991489934775/ . This event will be in highland Illinois. It will also be inside this time so will not be getting sunburned lol.   I know this is kind of short but there is not much to say other than it was a good event and I will do it again in the future.  Happy reading  Happy writing
